More posts from "MakeUp Inc." with Jim Sacca

Hello Everyone,
we have added more footage from master makeup artist Jim Sacca on the blog, makeupincwithjimsacca.blogspot.com.

Season 1 is shortly coming to an end, but we have a couple of amazing surprises in store for you before we wrap it up.  Not to worry though, we are already prepping Season 2, with even more amazing shows with Jim.

We wanted to also welcome Debra Weite (http://www.debraweite.com/), a super star hair stylist, who is joining Jim on his blog as both a contributing author as well as some shows.  We are in development on a show with her, and what an honor it will be to have her part of our team.

A shout goes out for the amazing Flip Camera, who has been our faithful companion so far.

It's been an amazing tool that allowed us to work in small spaces under very low lighting situations.  It may not be big budget movie ready (it's not), but this little camera has amazing capabilities.  Sound is also pretty terrific considering the size.

Stay tuned, as more is coming!

Updates on "One Man's Journey To Truth"

Hello Everyone,
it's been a hectic few months since we got back to New Zealand, and in the next few days I will post more of the diary of the trip.  Here are two very enlightening books from Denie.

At the moment we are beginning Post Production with amazing editor Tangier Clarke (http://www.tangierclarke.com/) who is taking on the project for us.  What a treat to have him on board, and to be able to finally work with him again, since our work on "Lidia" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xf1Ax_H64e8).

Also extremely exciting, we are welcoming Dave Negrin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLl0A6i6iqA) to the team.  Dave is one incredible Cinematographer who will join us on October 5th and 6th on our trip to Sedona, AZ to continue the filming with Denie.  Sedona was a landmark in Denie's life, and we will explore some of his past (and his future) adventures when he first landed in the USA, as he first left New Zealand.

More Pictures and Clips are also on the way.

New Zealand: Diary of an Amazing Journey.

Hello Everyone,
what an adventure our trip to New Zealand was! Marvellous!  I finally have some time to let all of you know what happened during our trip and share with you all our incredible experience.

Here is our diary...

June 11th, 2010.

The day has arrived.  I am finally ready to take off for Auckland and begin our journey and filming with Denie.  I arrive at the airport at LAX around 6:30pm, board my plane from Air New Zealand, sit down in my seat, and wait for the doors to close.

What kind of journey would it be if all went smoothly?  Naturally, murphy's law, rears its nasty head. As we are taking off (2 hours late) a loud 'POP' scares half the plane. As I was sitting by the wings, the people around me and I realized we had just popped a tire.  Thank goodness, our pilot was a master, and without breaking stride, was able to slow down and stop (on the runaway) before more damage could be done, and before we actually took off.

As they tell us what happened (we blew up two tires actually, plus ruined the landing gear) we have to wait on the runaway.  As midnight approaches, it is now obvious to all of us, we are not going anywhere tonight.

Finally after two hours waiting in the plane, busses arrive to de-plane us and take us back to the main terminal, where we had to wait for another hour, there before they find all 350+ people a place to stay for the night.  What amazing service by the people at Air New Zealand!

A group of us is taken to a Holiday Inn by the airport, where we check in, and try to go and get some shut eye.  Too bad no luggage, as we had to leave it in the plane.

Considering I had no idea when my plane would take off the next morning, I woke up quite early, got ready, had some breakfast and waited for some news. It wasn't until about 9:30am that someone from the hotel gave me and everyone else who like me was waiting for news, the information we needed for our trip.  New departure time: 3:30pm.

People Watching USA-England at LAX
Well...the good thing was I got to see some World Cup games, where the US-England game was the highlight of the day, in a somewhat boring 1-1 tie.

At the airport all went smoothly, thank again for the amazing service of Air New Zealand.

Finally, at 4:00pm, we take off, and an amazing journey begins.

A Big Thank You to our Affiliates!

We wanted to thank our affiliates, Cinema Secrets and Kryolan Corporation.

Cinema Secrets (http://www.cinemasecrets.com) was founded by Hollywood’s Maurice Stein in 1984, when he retired from his successful career of Professional Makeup to open a small beauty, special effects, and cosmetic supply business in Burbank, California. Maurice's reputation and expertise made the Burbank beauty supply an instant hit among entertainment industry makeup artists and professionals.

Opening the beauty supply became a family endeavor. Everyone waited on customers, Barbara did the books, Maurice handled the front, and with a couple of employees, Cinema Secrets quickly became a destination for the professional makeup artist, the studios, and many of Hollywood’s most expensive faces.

By 1989 the Cinema Secrets Beauty Supply was busting at the seams. “We could not fit one more box of tissues in the building without a case of sponges being pushed out of a window somewhere,” says Maurice. “We had to find a bigger facility, and something that could handle our growth and my vision.” Later that year, Cinema Secrets moved to its current location in Burbank. This new location was close enough to the major studios where our service quickly became synonymous with our reputation – “Family owned, Family Operated, and proud to help and service you.”

In 1990 Maurice started thinking about technology, healthy formulation components and cosmetic formulations all of which resulted in the development of Cinema Secrets Cosmetics. Cinema Secrets quickly became used by not only professionals in Hollywood, but noted as an advanced standard in the development of a clinical makeup that was successfully tested and used in the medical industry as well.

In the early years, Maurice and “the boys,” Michael and Danny, spent many Saturday afternoons pouring their own latex appliances and selling them in the store. In 1992, we re-introduced Woochie™ to the world and opened our seasonal division which now sells Cinema Secrets costumes and Woochie™ to the world.

Maurice and his family all play important roles in the company and maintain an active presence in the business. Now the grandchildren are on the horizon and a family tradition can continue into the future.

Through the years, Cinema Secrets has launched Cinema Secrets Cosmetics, Cinema Secrets Seasonal products, and expanded on the education and knowledge base of working makeup professionals in its Education Division.
